Notebook, journal, diary…words are essential.
There are a million reasons to write, but the most important of them might not be obvious to us. Where do you start? Mindfullness, wellness, self care are all good reasons for us to get our lives onto a page. Whether you’re a daily writer or occasional recorder, what you write can provide clarity for you and an invaluable legacy for others. You might be contributing to your future memoir or making important notes to share with your children.
There are a million reasons to write. What are yours? Do you need time away from your distractions? Are you taking notes for the future blockbuster out of your off the cuff ideas? Perhaps it’s the love letter you might never send.
Whatever your reasons for writing, I know from hard won experience that words matter. So pick up that pen and put down your device. You’re an amazing, fascinating person, even if no one else thinks so.
Everybody has a secret world inside of them. I mean everybody. All of the people in the whole world, I mean everybody — no matter how dull and boring they are on the outside. Inside them they’ve all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds… Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands, maybe.
